Gilt Mutual Funds

Gilt mutual funds are those mutual funds which invest in government securities like government papers having a maturity period of medium to long term. Gilt funds are offered by the Government of India due to which the risk of default (credit risk) is not associated with these investments. However, they are exposed to interest rate risk.
